Letter from the Commissioners
August 29, 2011
No American will ever forget the cowardly attacks of September 11, 2001. As we mark the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks that changed our Nation forever, please join us in commemorating that fateful day and paying tribute to the thousands of lives that were lost by participating in a national Moment of Remembrance adopted unanimously by the United States Senate.
Central Ohioans – firefighters, doctors, and police officers known as "Ohio's Task Force One" – responded without hesitation to those in need following the attacks. They left behind loved ones and reported to Ground Zero to assist in the recovery effort. Their selflessness will never be forgotten.
Join us in the Moment of Remembrance on Sunday, September 11, 2011 beginning at 1 p.m. We ask that our local first responders, police and fire in cities and townships throughout our county, sound their sirens and ring their bells for one minute to remember those lives lost and changed forever. Let's join together to send a strong and clear message that America is resilient and united. We encourage your participation.
This site has posters and flyers for you to download, information for your website, and so much more.
In the coming days, our office will be reaching out to you to answer any questions you may have. We look forward to working with you.
