ONE OF TRIO CONNECTED TO DUBLIN SUNOCO MURDER CHANGES PLEA TO GUILTY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announces that Austin M. Cusey, age 18, pled guilty at a hearing this morning in connection to the February 13, 2012 slaying of Mohamed Hassan, age 46, at the 201 W. Bridge Street Sunoco station in Dublin. Cusey also pled guilty for his involvement in the robbery that occurred on February 2, 2012 at the Dublin Max & Erma’s restaurant and the theft of 97 guns that occurred on February 8, 2012 at the Powder Room gun range in Powell. Cusey’s sentencing is set for December 3, 2012 before Judge Lynch in courtroom 7E at 345 South High Street. He faces a minimum sentence of 35 years to life and a maximum sentence of life without parole plus 74 years. |

Matthew Atkinson Plea |
MAN CONNECTED TO AGGRAVATED VEHICULAR HOMICIDE CHANGES PLEA TO GUILTY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announces that Matthew Atkinson, age 34, pled guilty at a hearing today to one F-2 count of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, in connection to the December 16, 2011 head-on-collision on the far east side of town which resulted in the death of Chad Fields, age 24. The Aggravated Vehicular Homicide was premised upon Atkinson being under the influence of alcohol. Fields and his pregnant wife Lindsay Hill were a mile from home at the time of the crash. O’Brien said that both Ms. Hill and the baby boy that was born in June were present in court and suffered no lasting effects from the crash. Atkinson’s sentencing will be set for early November before Judge Serrott in courtroom 6E at 345 South High Street. Atkinson faces a maximum sentence of 8 years incarceration. |

Cusey, age 18, is expected to plead guilty at a hearing this morning in connection to the February 13, 2012 slaying of Mohamed Hassan, age 46, at the 201 W. Bridge Street Sunoco station in Dublin. Cusey was also indicted for his alleged involvement in a robbery that occurred on February 2, 2012 at the Dublin Max & Erma’s restaurant and the theft of 97 guns that occurred on February 8, 2012 at the Powder Room gun range in Powell. The hearing is expected to commence at 9:00 am before Judge Lynch in courtroom 7E at 345 South High Street. |
