WESTERVILLE WOMAN WHO INJECTED MAN WITH HEROIN IS INDICTED FOR INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Emily N. Thacker, age 25, for one count Involuntary Manslaughter (F-1), two counts Corrupting Another With Drugs (F-2), and two counts Trafficking in Heroin (F-5), for a total of five counts, in connection to the March 25, 2012 drug related death of Russell Ronske, age 37. It is alleged that the defendant injected Ronske with heroin, which resulted in his death. It is also alleged that the defendant injected Ronske’s girlfriend, Heather Harms, age 33, with heroin , which nearly caused her death. If convicted on all charges, Thacker faces in excess of twenty-five years incarceration. Thacker will be arraigned on Thursday, July 7th at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street. |

GROVE CITY MAN INDICTED FOR FATAL STABBING OF EX-WIFE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Jeremy Roberts, age 38, for one count Aggravated Murder (prior calculation and design), and one count Murder (purposely done), for a total of two counts, in connection to the June 10, 2012 stabbing of his ex-wife that occurred outside his apartment located at 3246 Townhouse Drive in Grove City. The maximum penalty that Roberts faces is Life Without Parole on the Aggravated Murder count. At approximately 9:00 am, Police received a 911 call reporting that Roberts had allegedly fatally stabbed Candice Roberts, age 36, after she had arrived at the residence to pick up her children following a weekend visit with their father. O’Brien commended the 911 dispatcher and Grove City Police for rapidly securing the area. Roberts will be arraigned on Friday, June 22nd at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street. |

FIRST VEHICULAR HOMICIDE WHILE TEXTING CASE CONVICTED IN FRANKLIN COUNTY

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced the first Franklin County conviction in an Aggravated Vehicular Homicide while texting case against Daniel R. Jacobs, age 56, in the death of Dalton Ludwig, age 16, in connection with the crash that occurred on Interstate 270 near U.S. Route 33 on July 1, 2010, at approximately 6:00 pm. Ludwig suffered life-threatening injuries, was flown to Grant Medical Center, but passed away later that evening. Also in the vehicle with Ludwig was Floyd Evans, age 62, who was also transported and admitted to Grant Medical Center and treated for numerous serious injuries. At the time of the crash, Floyd Evans was Dalton Ludwig’s driving instructor. They were in the middle of a driving lesson and had pulled onto the shoulder of the freeway. Today, Daniel Jacobs pled guilty to one F-3 count of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide that was premised on texting when he failed to control his car, changed lanes without safety, and ran off the roadway striking the victims in the vehicle stopped on the shoulder of the roadway. Jacobs will be sentenced on August 9, 2012. |
