Time is essential in the recovery of a lost dog. The sooner the word is out and the more people reached, the better the chances of reuniting owners with their dogs.

If you find a dog that is wearing a Franklin County Dog tag, please visit our Dog eSearch site.

Here's what you need to post a lost or found dog on our site.

Click here for a form and attach a clear color photo of the dog. If you do not have a digital picture, you can mail your picture to: Franklin County Auditor, ATTN Lost & Found Dog E-Bulletin Board, 373 South High Street, 21st Floor, Columbus Ohio 43215-6310. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT PHOTOS THAT INCLUDE A CHILD UNDER THE AGE OF 18.

Complete as many of the fields as possilbe. ie: breed, gender, weight, color, markings, where and when the dog was lost or found, if the dog was wearing a collar, special needs, etc. For those who are posting notices for found dogs, we suggest that you be generic about the pet's description to allow the person claiming the animal to provide specific details about their dog. This will help in verifying that the person making the claim is the rightful owner.

A contact name, phone number and/or email address where you can be reached with information about the dog.

Your posting will remain on our Lost & Found page for 30 days. When the dog has been reunited with the owner, please let us know. We will update the page with the good news.
