Franklin County Mercury Thermometer Exchange Locations

The Franklin County Board of Health and the Columbus Health Department in cooperation with Columbus Division of Sewerage and Drainage, Bowling Green State University and local fire departments are sponsoring a mercury thermometer exchange program.

Trade in you mercury-containing thermometer, thermostat, blood pressures cuff or other mercury containing device for a FREE digital thermometer.

NOTE: We cannot accept broken thermometers, paints, pesticides or mercury compounds. They can be disposed of at any of the SWACO Household Hazardous Waste collection days. Visit SWACO online for more details. (www.swaco.org)

How to Participate:

  • Bring your mercury-containing items in the original plastic case or in two sealed zip-loc or small plastic bags. A solid container such as a margarine tub or coffee can may also be used.
