Just Say No to the Mosquito

The Franklin County Board of Health will be spraying to control adult mosquito populations on Thursday, July 2, 2009 in Mifflin, Clinton and Hamilton Townships.  The spraying (weather permitting) will begin at approximately 8:45 pm and may continue until 1:00 am.  The decision to spray was based on high and sustained numbers of mosquitoes caught in area traps over the past several weeks and a history of West Nile virus found in the area.  West Nile Virus has not been found in trapped mosquitoes at this time.  Please click HERE to view a map of the scheduled spray areas.

We are busy preparing for the 2009 mosquito season. Help us by doing your part to stop the spread of mosquitoes. Remove standing water from your property. Mosquitoes can lay thousands of eggs in a very small amount of water. To learn more about mosquito control and what else you can do to say no to the mosquito, visit the Mosquito Control Program.
