Rabies Immunization Clinics

The rabies immunization clinics are sponsored by the Franklin County Board of Health and the Columbus Academy of Veterinary Medicine. We would like to thank our other partners that make these clinics possible:

The Franklin County Dog Shelter, Capital Area Humane Society, Gahanna Parks and Recreation Department, Grove City Parks and Recreation Department and Westerville Parks and Recreation Department.

• Cost is $5.00 per vaccination (cash only)
• All dogs, cats, and ferrets must be on a leash or in an animal carrier
• Animals between 3 months and 1 year of age will receive a 1 year rabies vaccination
• Animals over 1 year old with proof of a current rabies vaccination will receive a 3 year vaccination
• If you are unable to provide proof of a current vaccination, your pet will receive a 1 year vaccination
• Please bring current rabies vaccination certificates and rabies tags with you to the clinic to verify vaccination

Rabies clinics sponsored by the Franklin County Board of Health do NOT include a physical examination of your pet. Prior to receiving the vaccination, notify the veterinary staff if your pet has had a previous vaccine reaction. The veterinary staff reserves the right to not vaccinate an animal. Although vaccine reactions are extrememly rare, before leaving the clinic, immediately notify the veterinary staff if your pet has trouble breathing, vomits, has diarrhea, begins to scratch excessively or develops any other changes.
