Project Cool Down, a program aimed at helping low-income working families cope with the high cost of cooling their homes. The program runs through Oct. 31and will provide a one time payment to anyone with a child living in the household and whose income falls between 176 and 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Level. Seniors staying cool: The Franklin County Senior Options are giving fans away to seniors over 60 years old. Eligibility can be determined by calling Franklin County Senior Option at 614-462-6200. Senior can also beat the heat by visiting "cooling centers" at local senior center, private clubs, churches, libraries and elsewhere for details call 614-462-6200
