Family to Family
Family to Family is about communities taking care of their own. It's about neighbors helping neighbors with support from local agencies. The program is designed to strengthen families by working together with community organizations and individuals to help families who may be in trouble.
The Community Development Department oversees this program sponsored by Franklin County Children Services. The agency works in partnership with five community settlement houses: St. Stephen's Community House (in zip codes 43211, 43219, and 43224), Gladden Community House (43222, 43223, and 43215), Neighborhood House (43203 and 43206), Central Community House (43205) and Southside Settlement House (43207). Their charge is to work as an extension to the Children Services team and to help provide services that are sensitive to that specific community and meets the unique needs of the children and families served.
Family to Family agencies are responsible to link families with neighborhood based support services that are in the community where they live. The goal is to keep families together and children in their own communities whenever possible.
The Family to Family partnership serves as a strong relationship between a child protection agency and the neighborhoods where families live.
