Board and Leadership

Children Services is governed by an 11-member volunteer board. Ten members are appointed by the County Commissioners, and one is the chair of the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC). The Franklin County Children Services Board provides leadership, experience, commitment and expertise to assure that the agency is financially responsible and programmatically effective. The Board establishes policy for the agency and directly hires the executive director, who is responsible for agency operations.

The Franklin County Children Services Board meets at 855 W. Mound Street in the third-floor board room on the last Wednesday of each month. Click here to see a list of the 2013 Franklin County Children Services Board meetings.

Citizens Advisory Committee

The Citizens Advisory Committee is comprised of volunteers representing diverse backgrounds within our community. All members are reviewed by application and then appointed by the Children Services Board. They are a caring group devoted to giving children additional opportunities that are not a part of the traditional foster care experience. A key focus is granting requests from children in foster care for monies that afford them the things in life which cannot be provided to them with the county's allocated tax dollars.

To apply for CAC membership, please complete and return the membership application form.
