Vice Chair - Joseph L. Mas
Joseph Mas is an attorney in private practice with 27 years of experience including serving as a guardian ad litem. He has represented children in hundreds of cases, and is a member of the Ohio and Federal Bar. He graduated from Capital Law School and Rollins College.
Mas was formerly the executive director of the Ohio Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs, and is currently chair of the Ohio Hispanic Coalition. He has received the Distinguished Hispanic Ohioan award and the Silver Key award from the American Bar Association.
Mas's other community service work centers around diversity issues, bilingual and literacy programs, and work on behalf of children. Mas is also a former foster parent. "When the County Commissioners asked me to serve, I knew they were carrying out their special interest in representing and serving the increasingly diverse populations in Franklin County," said Mas. "I welcomed the opportunity to serve such an important agency and such an important constituency, and am looking forward to working with the director, the staff and the Board to insure a bright future for the children of our community."
