2009 Employee Recognition

The Child Welfare Caseworker of the Year went to Andrea Giulitto (shown left) of Program and Placement Services at Intake . She received the award because she understands her role as a child protection worker and the enormous responsibility it entails. She is very dedicated to her children and families and even went as far as coordinating and helping clean a home that was unsafe so that the family could remain together. She is often praised for her handling of difficult or delicate situations and her excellent customer service skills.

The Honorable Mention for Child Welfare Caseworker of the Year went to Andrew Buss (shown second to left) of East Region. To this worker, every child and family is important. He concentrates on families’ strengths instead of their problems. He has been described as professional and calm but direct with the families with whom he works.

Amy Wood (shown second to right) of the Alternative Response team at Intake was selected as Manager of the Year. As a child welfare professional, she constantly pursues excellence and sets high standards for herself and those she works with each day. She sees her families as experts of their own experience and knows that successful outcomes begin with listening to families and engaging them in identifying what they need to heal and be successful. Her talent and leadership also led to her receiving the Field Instructor of the Year Award from The Ohio State University.

The Support Worker of the Year went to Leesa Evans (shown right) of the Volunteer Department at FCCS. Her efforts have helped double the number of volunteer inquiries and her work on the “Race to Recruit” program resulted in four times as many volunteer and mentor matches than the previous year. Armed with a positive attitude, she energetically accepts new assignments and is always looking for ways to promote the good work the agency does.

The Bright Idea Award went to the Multi-Cultural Development Team who worked to create a Spanish phone line at Intake to better serve the Spanish-speaking community. All of the winners embody the guiding principles of the agency: We Are Child Welfare Professionals, We Value Every Child, We Honor Families, and We Value Partnerships.
