Speakers & Presentations
As a community service, professionals from Franklin County Children Services are available to speak to local groups and organizations. Topics include child abuse and neglect, legal mandates for reporting child abuse, success stories in child protection, foster care, adoption and volunteer/mentoring services. Presentations can be designed to fit a group’s program needs. The agency’s mascot, Ted D. Bear, brings the message that Child Abuse is Unbearable, to some events and presentations. The cuddly costumed character is also available for public appearances. To schedule a speaker or Ted D. Bear, call 614.341.6017 or Email. Please allow 2-3 weeks notice.
The Professional Development Department of Children Services offers training for professionals who are mandated to report abuse or neglect at its 855 W. Mound St. office each quarter. This four-hour training covers how to make a referral, what will happen after the referral is made, and what services are available to children and families. Inquiries about the training can be made as stated above.
