U.S. Passport Book
Use for travel by air, sea or land to all destinations.The Passport Book is valid for all forms of travel, but is required to re-gain entrance into the United States from any country by air.
Validity:
10 years for adults; 5 years for minors
Fees for first time applicants:
$110 for adults
$80 for minors (under age 16)

U.S. Passport Card
Use for travel by sea or land crossings from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean region, and Bermuda only.A U.S. Passport Card can be used for land or sea crossings to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean region.
The Card is not valid for air travel, or for re-entrance from any other foreign country.

$15 for minors (under age 16)
