Your donations are always welcome at the
Franklin County Dog Shelter!
TOYS ARE ALWAYS APPRECIATED!! Spending day after day in a cage can be really boring. Dogs love toys to break up the monotony & amuse them at playtime. Durable toys that last a while are great!
Bagged, dry dog food kibble is also needed for those in our community who need a little assistance.
We are always in need of soft or chewy dog treats, extra towels, blankets, pet carriers, shampoo, canned or soft dog food, Also plain or vanilla yogurt, creamy peanut butter, kongs and other toys or any other dog related items. When you clean out your closets and have some extra old towels and blankets, just drop them off at the Dog Shelter during the Shelter office hours.
NOTE: We currently have plenty of dog biscuit type treats and peanut butter, but any other items on our list would be appreciated!
We can always use your full-size recycled newspapers. We use them to line the bottoms of the cages and we use approximately a mini-van full of papers every single day! Unfortunately the smaller, tabloid advertiser size is too small for our cages.
If your school, club, brownie troop, organization or group can collect newspapers for us and periodically drop them off at the shelter, we would be ever so grateful. Newspapers may be dropped off at the backdoor during business hours, or deposited in the big tractor trailer parked behind the shelter 24 hours a day.
