Licensing Your Dog


More than 10,000 Lost Dogs Came To The Shelter Last Year...

If only they'd been wearing a dog license, we could have helped get more of them back home!  Make sure your dog is WEARING a license at all times!


  • All dogs in Ohio three months of age and older must be licensed annually by January 31 or immediately after assuming ownership.

  • You must show proof of current rabies vaccination in order to purchase a dog license.  Low-cost shot clinic is available once a month:  2008 Rabies Immunization Clinic Schedule Or get your dog vaccinated by any licensed veterinarian.

License Fees

$12 – Puppies aged 9 months or younger.
$12 – Dogs 9 months or older that have been spayed or neutered.
$24 – Dogs over 9 months that have not been spayed or neutered.
                        late fees apply after January 31st!
