County Administrator,
Don L. Brown
As
the chief operating executive for the Franklin County Board
of
Commissioners, County Administrator Don L. Brown assists with the
administration, planning, budgeting and staffing of the commissioners'
organization of 13 agencies and 1,400 employees. He also oversees
the annual budget preparation of 33 county government agencies,
which employ a workforce of nearly 7,000.
Brown
has a combination of business, government and consulting experience.
Brown's previous experience includes:
- Executive
assignments for large national firms that specialized in governmental
operations, systems and consulting services.
- Budget
Officer for Dallas County Texas; Parkland Memorial Hospital District
finance committee member.
- Director
of Finance for Franklin County Ohio; Mental Retardation and Developmental
Disabilities Board member.
- Administrative
Services Director for the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
- Administrative
Analyst for the City of Columbus, Ohio.
Brown
completed post-graduate studies in Accounting at the University
of Texas at Dallas. He holds a Master of Public Administration degree
and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio State University.
Brown
is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and a member of the American Institute
of Certified Public Accountants. He also belongs to the Ohio Society
of Certified Public Accountants, and is registered as a Certified
Governmental Financial Manager with the Association of Government
Accountants.
