Deputy County Administrator, William J. Flaherty

As Deputy County Administrator, William J. Flaherty assists the County Administrator with responsibility for the administration, planning, budgeting and staffing of the County Commissioners' organization (13 Agencies, 1400 employees) along with overseeing the annual budget preparation for 33 county government agencies, which employ a workforce of more than 6,000.

Flaherty previously served as an executive officer experienced in strategic planning, hiring of executive and management staff, goal setting and establishing of fiscal and program monitoring procedures.

Since joining Franklin County, Flaherty has effectively administered a wide range of programs including labor contract negotiations, installation of a code of ethics to guide all Board of Commissioner employees in their day to day duties and the development of a health care labor management committee organized to address the rising cost of health care in Franklin County.  

Flaherty received a Bachelor of Arts degree from King’s College.
