The 2008 Franklin County Budget Hearings allow the general public to actively participate in the budget approval process and learn more about County agencies, programs and services.

I'd like to participate in the public budget hearings, but can't take the time off work. Is there any other way that I can be involved?
Throughout the budget hearing process, citizens are being encouraged to attend agency hearings, review agency budgets online, submit budget-related questions to each agency via the budget Web site, or view the televised hearings on Government Channel Television 3.

What is Performance Based Budgeting?
Performance Based Budgeting is a method of budgeting that links measured results with funding allocations. This new system is an integral part of Managing for Results that allows resources to be allocated for the achievement of results.

What is Managing for Results?
Managing for Results signifies that an entire organization, its management system, the people and the culture (beliefs, behavior and language) are focused on the achieving results for the customer.
Managing for Results is a management approach for developing and maintaining a more responsive and accountable government. Strategic plans (mission, strategic results, goal setting), performance measurement systems (family of measures) and performance based budgets (method of budgeting that links measured results with funding allocations) are some of the most important tools for a solid MFR structure.
