Managing for Results
In 2000, Franklin County began implementing a Managing for Results (MFR) initiative and took the first step in reaching a larger goal to run County government more like a business by focusing on customer service, accountability and results.
In 2002, 30 county agencies adopted the MFR initiative, developed strategic business plans and committed themselves to the next step in the process - performance based budgeting. This system links the performance of each agency to the county budget and creates a systematic basis for evaluating service efforts and accomplishments.
