Purpose

The purpose of the Economic Development & Planning Department is to provide economic development, affordable housing, zoning enforcement, land-use planning, residential building inspection, floodplain administration and information services to protect and enhance the quality of life for the inhabitants of Franklin County and Central Ohio in a stable, sustainable local economy.

Mission Statement:
The Franklin County Board of Commissioners, Economic Development & Planning Department's mission is to promote organized growth supported by the principles of environmental responsibility, progressive land use, planning, social equity and economic vitality.
