Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is a flexible program that provides communities with resources to address a wide range of unique community development needs. National objectives of the CDBG program include:
- Benefit to low- and moderate-income households
- Prevention or elimination of slums or blight
- Address community development needs with a particular urgency that pose an immediate threat to health and welfare of communities
Franklin County has offered a variety of CDBG-funded programs, including urgent home repairs, downpayment assistance programs, microenterprise loans and business development programs, housing retention, and sidewalk and other infrastructure programs to benefit low- and moderate-income communities. Application for 2011 CDBG Programming
The application for CDBG program funding for the 2011 Program Year is now available for eligible vendors and service providers. Applications are due October 29, 2010, and the 2011 program year commences on April 1, 2011. Applications will be reviewed by the Franklin County Community Development Advisory Committee and are subject to public hearing and approval by the Franklin County Commissioners.
