The Purpose of County Government
County government exists to serve its citizens by providing services that they need. Here is a table of some of the county government functions and examples of the services offered to fill these needs.

| Providing a system of justice. |

Zoning, Children Services, Human Services, Office of Aging, Child Support Enforcement, Veterans Service Commission. |

Public parking, sponsoring day care facilities, Rickenbacker Airport, Economic development, job training and educational services, Mental Retardation and Development Disabilities, welfare, Entertainment - Cooper Stadium, Convention center, Veterans Memorial, County Fair, Human Services. |
