Violence Against Women Act Grant Program
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 was signed into law by President Obama on February 17, 2009. The STOP Violence Against Women Act Grant Program is federally administered by the U.S. Department of Justice, Violence Against Women Office. Locally, VAWA funding is administered by the Franklin County Office of Homeland Security & Justice Programs. The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Program funds projects that assist units of local government develop and strengthen law enforcement and prosecution strategies and services to combat crimes against women while also ensuring job growth and job retention. Franklin County's current request for proposals under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, STOP VAWA Grant Program is below.
Law Enforcement, Prosecution, Court and Victim Services
- Training
- Enhancement Efforts
- Policy and Protocol Development
- Data Collection & Communication Systems
- Victim Service Programs and Visitation Centers
- Stalking Programs
- Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE)
- Collaboration of Law Enforcement, Prosecution and Victim Service Provider Agencies is required
- 25% Cash Match and/or In-kind Match Required
- Victim service providers are exempt from match requirement

- FY 2007 = $445,864.69
- FY 2006 = $550,746.00
- FY 2005 = $545,352.00
- FY 2004 = $559,393.00
