Violence Against Women Act Grant Program
The STOP Violence Against Women Act Grant Program is federally administered by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women. Locally, VAWA funding is administered by the Franklin County Office of Homeland Security & Justice Programs. The S.T.O.P. Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Program funds projects that assist units of local government develop and strengthen law enforcement and prosecution strategies and non-profit victim service providers working to combat crimes against women. This grant program emphasizes coordinated community approaches to reduce violence against women and to create mutually respectful partnerships between the justice system and victim services. Franklin County's current request for proposals under the FY 2010 S.T.O.P. VAWA Grant Program is below.

- Training
- Enhancement Efforts
- Policy and Protocol Development
- Data Collection & Communication Systems
- Victim Service Programs and Visitation Centers
- Stalking Programs
- Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE)
- Collaboration of Law Enforcement, Prosecution and Victim Service Provider Agencies is required
- 25% Cash Match and/or In-kind Match Required
- Victim service providers are exempt from match requirement

- FY 2005 = $545,352.00
- FY 2004 = $559,393.00
