Employee Recognition

2011 Employees of the Year

Paula Bolender Paula Bolender-Davis, Customer Support Specialist for the SCOC Change Unit, was nominated by six of her peers – which shows how much she is appreciated. Some of the comments about Paula from the numerous nominations received include: she is always willing to help her unit in any way she can, even if her own workload is affected; she always goes above and beyond for everyone in the unit, as well as customers; she is patient with customers when explaining the process for case changes; she is the glue that holds the unit together; and she is an all around fantastic employee and person. Congratulations, Paula!

Twila Lucas Twila Lucas, Supervisor for the Eligibility Unit 2130, at Northland Village, is a mentor to anyone who needs help and puts out as much or more effort than she asks from her direct reports. The nomination also noted that she is the epitome of excellence; programs under her supervision excel in nearly every practical measure; and she promotes an atmosphere of team work. Twila lives the phrase "winners are not concerned about winning or losing, they just love to run" and unlike others who have the title of supervisor, she knows how to inspire The Winner's Credo in others. Congratulations, Twila!

Ashley Sundaram Ashley Sundaram, a Case Manager in the Adult Cases Unit at the WCOC, was recommended to receive this prestigious award. Ashley always tries to accommodate customers who have missed appointments by "squeezing them in as soon as possible." She provides answers regarding questions about cases. The nomination regarding her recommendation also noted she believes in stepping up to serve others; she continually goes beyond the call of duty; and she transferred from the Family Unit (with the additional duty of the confidential caseload) to a Medicaid Unit – but willingly kept the confidential caseload to assist the center – so in essence she is performing double duty. Congratulations, Ashley!
