Purpose
The Job Center provides a location for Franklin County’s workforce development activities to take place. The purpose of Workforce Development is to provide direct and indirect employment and training services to TANF eligible customers so they can attain and maintain gainful employment and reach self-sufficiency.
Services Offered
Services offered are comprised of career development including; employment needs assessment, job search and job readiness assistance, community service opportunities, vocational education, interview preparation, career development, work experience programs, entry level job skill training directly related to employment, educational class referrals directly related to employment, GED/ABLE classes, and VESOL (Vocational English for Speakers of Other Languages).
Franklin County Office of Workforce Development collaborates with one stop partners by leveraging resources to provide an array of services necessary to enhance our customers journey towards self sufficiency including; utilization of a onsite resource room for job search assistance, job fairs, resume writing, interview preparation, employment needs assessment, vocational evaluation, short and long term training and educational assistance through Individual Training Accounts (ITAs).
Outcomes
Program outcomes include increased job placement and meeting or exceeding work participation requirements.
