WHAT: 2007 Earth Day Activities

Leading by example, Franklin County Commissioners will join central Ohio residents to celebrate Columbus’ record-setting Earth Day event –Earth Day 2007: A Year in a Day. Commissioners and volunteers will plant trees at Como Park in Clintonville at 10a.m.

Commissioners will also join the day’s celebration at Goodale Park. Commissioners will highlight Franklin County’s commitment to attracting jobs and businesses to the region while protecting the fragile ecosystem.

Last year, Franklin County Commissioners adopted Resolution 683-06, an environmental policy that guides economic growth and ensures environmental protection and the commitment to promote sustainable principles in policy decisions and programs throughout Franklin County.

This policy will guide design and construction of two multi-generational projects in Franklin County – the new courts building and Huntington Park.
