The Ohio Military Hall of Fame (OMHOF) inducted 20 veterans into their Hall of Fame today in a ceremony at the Ohio Statehouse. Franklin County Commissioners Mary Jo Kilroy and Dewey R. Stokes along with other state and local elected officials were in attendance. Inductees were the recipients of the OMHOF Medal and are an exclusive group of veterans who made great sacrifices and demonstrated great courage to protect our freedoms.

Throughout the course of American History, men and women have taken up arms to secure, defend and maintain the principles upon which our Nation’s freedoms depend. The Board of Commissioners is especially proud to have Motts Military Museum, permanent home to the Ohio Military Hall of Fame within our county borders. Motts Museum continues to recognize and remember veterans in Franklin County and throughout Ohio.

There are more than 26 million living veterans who serve our Nation in times of peace and war. As we approach Memorial Day later this month, the Board would like to remind all of Franklin County to pause and reflect on the sacrifices that not only these brave men have made but all of those who have put themselves in harm’s way to serve in the United States military.
