City of Gahanna Submits Application for $3 Million in Clean Ohio Revitalization Funds

GAHANNA – Gahanna Mayor Rebecca W. Stinchcomb joins Franklin County Commissioner Paula Brooks, Gahanna City Council Members, County Treasurer Richard Cordray, State Senator David Goodman, State Representative Jim McGregor and local business leaders to outline the revitalization plan for the Bedford Landfill that was submitted to the Ohio Department of Development as part of the $3 million Clean Ohio Revitalization Fund (CORF) grant application. This grant application is a major step towards transforming this decades-old garbage dump into a first-class office, commercial & light industrial development park. The Bedford Landfill property is the first property acquired through Franklin County’s Land Bank Program.

A presentation will showcase the proposed design of the landfill after the environmental cleanup is complete and the jobs that will be created after this $6 million public-private revitalization project is completed. The Bedford Landfill is located in the heart of Gahanna’s commercial-industrial district and is among the highest elevation in Franklin County with spectacular views of the City of Columbus skyline and the Columbus Airport.
