MORPC Census and Resource Events for Somali and Latino Communities Scheduled for Saturday, March 13, 2010

The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) has scheduled two events to promote the importance of the 2010 Census:

"It is imperative that we get the word out to these communities about how important it is for them to complete the Census. These events provide an excellent opportunity for us to do that and share with them the many services and programs that may be of some benefit to them," states Chester Jr. Jourdan, Jr., MORPC Executive Director.

Along with the Census 2010 and Columbus Fire Department, representatives from the Columbus Health Department, MORPC and Ohio Benefits Bank will be on hand to provide information to the communities on the following free services and programs: MORPC Housing & Community Services, MORPC Energy Efficiency Program, MORPC RideSolutions, Columbus Free Health Clinics, H1N1 flu shots, and Ohio Benefits Bank.

For more information on the scheduled events, please contact Shari Saunders, at 614-233-4125 or by email.

MORPC is a voluntary association of 47 local governments in central Ohio serving the region through planning, direct service, public policy information and innovative programming and intergovernmental coordinating services in the areas of transportation, land use, energy conservation, the environment and housing.
