Big Walnut Watershed Meeting Scheduled in Gahanna on March 15, 2011
The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) along with the Friends of Big Walnut Creek and Tributaries will host a public meeting focusing on Balanced Growth Planning in the Big Walnut Watershed on Tuesday, March 15 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the City of Gahanna Council Office, 200 S. Hamilton Road in Gahanna. All members of the community are invited to attend this public meeting.
Participants will learn how communities and stakeholders in the Big Walnut Watershed are planning for the future through Balanced Growth Planning. Balanced Growth Planning is a MORPC facilitated initiative that provides communities with the opportunity to prioritize areas for directed development and areas to conserve at the regional level. Participants will have the opportunity to share ideas and provide input about areas in the community they consider important for conservation, development and agriculture.
"We hope to broaden participation in this planning process, and engage local officials and residents in dialogue about ways we can protect the watershed for future generations," said Bob Kyle, Chairman of Friends of Big Walnut Creek and Tributaries.
Those interested in attending may contact Brandi Whetstone at bwhetstone@morpc.org or 614-233-4174 for more information or to RSVP. More information on Balanced Growth Planning is available at balancedgrowthplanning.morpc.org
