Not all public elections will be on the election ballot on November 6th. Every year, Soil and Water Districts in all 88 counties hold public Board Supervisor elections at annual events.
When: Thursday, October 18, 2007 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. concurrently with the Annual Banquet.
Where: The event will be held at the Confluence Restaurant appropriately located at the confluence of the Olentangy and Scioto Rivers. The restaurant can be accessed off of Souder Rd., just south of the Souder/ Dublin Rd. intersection in Columbus.
Additional voting information: United States citizens who live or own property in Franklin County and are 18 years or older may vote for open Supervisor positions. You can vote in this election at the Confluence Restaurant, on Thursday, October 18th, requesting an absentee ballot before Monday, October 15th or visiting our offices at 1328 Dublin Road before 4:30 PM on Thursday, October 18th. This year’s candidates are Linda Paul from Clintonville and Lindsay Bair from Hilliard. Each of these candidates has expressed her commitment to share her knowledge and skills for the benefit of conservation in Franklin County.
The public is also welcome to join our annual banquet after voting. This year’s theme is “Wild about Wetlands” with David Celebrezze of the Ohio Environmental Council sharing sites and experiences with spring-time wooded wetlands known as vernal pools. Tickets are $28.00 per person before October 12th.
The Board of Supervisor election is authorized by Ohio Revised Code and overseen by the Ohio Soil and Water Conservation Commission. In Franklin County the Soil and Water Conservation District promotes responsible land use decisions for the conservation protection and improvement of soil and water resources through partnering, technical guidance and education.
