(Editors note we have pictures of the illegal dumping but need the public’s help identifying the illegal dumpers)

SWACO’s Nail-a-Dumper program needs the public’s help in nabbing two illegal dumpers caught on camera. The case stems from a September 14, 2007 incident on the south side of Columbus. Two suspects are seen on hidden camera photos dumping a couch at a known illegal dump site in the area of Groveport Road and Wilson Avenue. If caught and convicted the suspects could face up to 4 years in jail and/or up to $25,000 in fines in connection (each) on a charge of Open Dumping (unclassified felony).

Deputies and other members of the Franklin County Environmental Crimes Unit have spent hours trying to identify the two suspects in the photos, but so far with no luck.

The two men are seen in the picture driving a green or blue late 70’s or early 80’s model Ford pick-up truck with Ohio license plates.

SWACO’s Nail-A-Dumper program is asking the public’s help in identifying the pair. Copies of the photos are available at www.nailadumper.com.(click on the “most wanted” of the website).

The Nail-a-Dumper program is part of The Franklin County Environmental Crimes Unit which is funded by The Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio. The multi-governmental agency is designed to track down and prosecute those who illegally dump or litter in Franklin County, Ohio. Citizens can assist a strong team of deputies, prosecutors, and public health sanitarians.

The Environmental Crimes Unit is made up of representatives from The Franklin County Board of Health, The Franklin County Prosecutor’s office, The Franklin County Sheriff’s office and the Columbus Division of Refuse.
