The ability to provide electronic filing to the legal and public communities of Franklin County has been a vision of the Common Pleas Courts for several years.

In 2006 the eGovernance Board was created to investigate and implement a shared e-Filing system for Franklin County. A workgroup serving under the Board consists of IT Staff from the various Common Pleas divisions, the Court of Appeals, the Data Center, and the Supreme Court of Ohio.

Costs for the initial purchase of the system will be shared based on 2006 new case statistics of each Court and will be funded through the Courts’ computerization funds. Annual maintenance and support of the e-Filing System will be budgeted through the General Fund by the Data Center.
