As you know, real estate taxes are due every six months in Franklin County. It can be a terrible burden for a taxpayer to come up with a large payment all at once or to keep track of payment due dates.
The Budget Pay Program is a free service that that allows taxpayers to budget their tax payments to help you plan and save for your taxes before they are due. Monthly payments are accepted and are applied when the taxes are due. Payments may be made by check, money order, certified check, cashier's check, cash or direct debit.

Monthly Direct Debit Budget Pay
The monthly Direct Debit option offers taxpayers the added benefit of earning interest on their tax payments.
Here is how it works:
- The interest the County earns on its total investment portfolio determines the interest rate taxpayers receive.
- We calculate the interest rate on all of your monthly payments from your first direct debit payment until the tax due date.
- We credit the interest to your escrow account, which goes toward your taxes for the next billing cycle.
The County's interest rate is often a much better rate than you can get on a short-term deposit account.
To begin making monthly payments simply print, fill out and return the Budget Pay Authorization Form.
