Provide advice and assistance to veterans, active duty members of the Armed Forces of the United States, and their dependents in obtaining benefits and entitlements from federal, state, and local agencies; and to provide immediate financial assistance when necessary and appropriate.
The Veterans Service Commissioners meet each Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. to review and render decisions on the financial assistance applications of the prior weeks.

Veteran's benefit specialists are available Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 3:30 pm at the South and East Community Opportunity Centers to accept financial assistance applications and veteran's claims. Appointments may also be scheduled, but on a case by case basis.
