The Franklin County Engineer’s Office (FCEO) designs, builds and maintains a comprehensive transportation network. This network encompasses roads, bridges and drainage infrastructure that accommodates all modes of travel. The FCEO’s expert team excels in surveying, engineering, construction and maintenance. During winter weather, the team specializes in snow and ice removal.

The office aims to foster strong relationships with surrounding communities and partner agencies. This collaborative approach ensures that solutions address everyone’s needs. Action and innovation are at the heart of everything we do.

FCEO is comprised of 181 permanent employees across four locations.

Adam W. Fowler, P.E., P.S.

Adam W. Fowler, P.E., P.S., became the 10th Franklin County Engineer in January 2025. A civil engineer with over 20 years of public service, Adam has held roles at ODOT, the Franklin County Engineer’s Office, and the City of Columbus. A Westerville native and Ohio State graduate, he is committed to building a stronger, connected Franklin County.
