Did You Lose Food During a Power Outage or Disaster?

If you receive Food Assistance through SNAP and are impacted by a disaster, such as a fire, flooding or power outage of at least 4 hours that results in food loss or spoilage, you can be issued Replacement Benefits. Food Assistance Replacement Benefits are added directly to your Ohio Direction Card, similar to your normal allotment.

How to Apply for Food Replacements

Am I eligible?

To get Replacement Benefits, your household must have received Food Assistance during the month that the disaster happened.

To apply, download and complete the JFS 07222 form within 10 days of the loss and submit it to Franklin County Department of Job and Family Services.
