Franklin County Board of Commissioners I Franklin County Office on Aging
For the 24th year, the Franklin County Office on Aging will partner with the Columbus Clippers to host Senior Clippers Day at Huntington Park, giving adults 60 and older a day at the ballpark for as little as five dollars. The Franklin County Board of Commissioners approved the 2026 event on April 7, including authorization to provide up to 1,200 complimentary boxed lunches and bottled waters to seniors attending the game.
This year's event is scheduled for May 21, 2026, with the board also approving a proclamation of Franklin County Office on Aging Day in connection with the game. Reserved seating is available for $6 and bleacher seating for $5, with transportation available at no cost for senior groups of ten or more, made possible through community and grant-funded partners.
Laurice Collins, Chief Financial Officer of the Franklin County Office on Aging, described the event as a way to bring older adults from across the county together around a shared experience. Attendees also have access to local organizations sharing resources and information throughout the day.
Lunches for the event will be provided through an agreement with Levy Premium Foodservice, approved for up to $15,000. The Office on Aging presented the resolution as part of its broader commitment to accessible, community-centered programming for Franklin County seniors.
Residents 60 and older interested in attending can contact the Franklin County Office on Aging for ticket and transportation details.
