Emergency Dog Boarding During Extreme Cold During periods of extreme cold and dangerous winter weather, the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center is providing free, temporary emergency boarding for dogs owned by Franklin County residents who are entering Franklin County warming centers.

Special Needs Rescue Program Our Special Needs Rescue Program helps find placement for dogs who need extra care, time, or specialized support beyond the shelter.
Field Services The shelter’s Field Services team, carries out the agency’s law enforcement responsibilities. Animal Control Officers enforce Ohio dog laws, respond to stray, injured, and dangerous dog calls, investigate complaints, and work to protect both public safety and animal welfare in Franklin County.
Community Pet Pantry The shelter's Community Pet Pantry is a community resource designed to support pet owners experiencing temporary financial hardship by offering free pet food and supplies.
SNYP-IT, C-BUS SNYP-IT C-BUS is a program that provides free spay or neuter surgery, vaccines, and a microchip for dogs owned by qualifying low-income Franklin County residents.
Rehoming We provide guidance and resources to support our community when keeping a dog is no longer possible, with a focus on safe and responsible rehoming. Our goal is to help people and pets stay supported while finding the best possible outcome and keeping dogs out of the shelter whenever we can.
Microchipping & Other Resources Trusted local resources and helpful information for pet owners, including low-cost veterinary care, microchipping, rabies clinics, emergency services, and pet support programs.
