Clear the Shelters Sleepover Event

Give a shelter dog a break from the kennels during our annual Clear the Shelters Weekend Sleepover Event!

Shelter Dog Weekend Sleepover Pickups:

• Friday, August 29th, 2025 | 11:00am - 6:00pm

• Saturday, August 30th, 2025 | 9:00am - 4:00pm

Sleepover Return Time:

• Starting Sunday, August 31st, at 9:00am

How it works:

• Pick up a shelter dog for a weekend (or longer!) sleepover.

• The shelter will provide all the supplies you need, food, leash, toys, and more.

• You provide the comfy home, love, and weekend adventures.

• Main caregiver must be 18+ years of age with a valid ID.

• This is a walk-in. first-come event – no appointments or holds.

• It is recommended to arrive early and bring a list of dogs you may be interested in hosting to expedite the check in process.

  → Dogs listed as "In foster home" are not at the shelter and are not eligible for this event. Email foster@franklincountyohio.gov if interested in those dogs.

• For their own safety and comfort, owned pets will not be permitted inside of the shelter. If you need to bring your dog along for a meet and greet, please bring a friend or family member who can stay with your dog on leash while you are inside.

If you fall in love with your house guest, adoptions can often be finalized right from home. Adoption fees are waived* through the end of the month (*$18 license fee applies).
