Spring Sleepover Pickups

Are you thinking about adopting a dog? Or would you simply like to give a shelter dog a relaxing weekend away from the kennels? If so, this event is for you!

Beginning Friday, April 10th, community members are invited to take an adoptable shelter dog home for a Spring Sleepover Weekend. Time outside the shelter helps dogs stretch their legs, experience life in a home, and enjoy extra love and attention. It also helps the shelter learn more about their personalities!

You do not need to live in Franklin County to participate.

How the Sleepover Works

• Visit the shelter and choose an adoptable dog

• Take the dog home for the weekend (or longer if you choose)

• The shelter provides supplies such as food, bedding, toys, treats and a leash

• You provide a safe place to stay, comfort, and lots of love

Adoption fees are just $18, and many adoptions can be completed by phone.

What You Need to Know

• Participants must be 18 years or older and bring a valid ID

• This is a walk in event. No appointments or holds are available

• Dogs are available for sleepovers first come, first served

• Arriving early and bringing a list of dogs you are interested in can help speed up the check in process

Dogs listed as “In foster home” are not at the shelter and are not eligible for this event.

Safety Reminder

For the safety and comfort of all animals, owned pets are not allowed inside the shelter.

If you wish to bring your dog for a meet and greet, please bring a friend or family member who can stay outside, or in a vehicle with your dog on leash while you enter the building.
