Senior Options Programs
Franklin County Senior Options empowers Franklin County residents aged 60 and older with the necessary tools to maintain their independence. Senior Options also helps ease the minds of family members by connecting them to support services so they can provide the best care for their older parent, family member or friend with limited abilities.
Senior Options is the "one-stop shopping" point for information and access to senior services including:
Adult Day Care
Consists of community-based programs designed to meet the needs of functionally impaired adults in a protective setting. Program components include health services, personal care, meals, activities, and transportation. Additional programs may include social work services and rehabilitation therapies.
Caregiver Relief (Respite Care)
Provides trained individuals to help with the care of older adults who need 24-hour supervision so caregivers can enjoy personal time without worry.
Case Management
Provides ongoing assessments and interaction with older adults to ensure the adequacy and quality of community-based services.
Emergency Response Systems
Monitors an older adult's safety at home and provides access to emergency services through electronic communication devices.
Home-Delivered Meals
Delivers well-balanced meals to the older adult's home to promote adequate nutrition.
Homemaker Services
Provides assistance in maintaining a clean, safe and healthy environment, as well as help in managing personal appointments and day-to-day household activities.
Information & Referrals
Provides resource information on community-based services for older adults to the public.
Medical Transportation
Provides transportation for older adults to medical facilities, including wheelchair transportation.
Minor Home Repair
Performs a variety of repairs on an older adult's home to improve their independence and safety.
Personal Care
Provides assistance in the performance of necessary activities such as personal hygiene, grooming, and moving about the home.
Program Eligibility
Residents are eligible for these services if they are meeting the following eligibility requirements:
- Reside in Franklin County (Ohio)
- Aged 60 years or older

Senior Options is funded by the Franklin County Senior Services Levy, which is a property tax levy. The very first levy was passed by Franklin County voters in 1992, and the first levy cycle began in 1993.
