ATTENTION APPLICANTS: Scammers have been emailing invoices to applicants for fees associated with development applications.

The Economic Development Department (EDP), any other Franklin County Board, Commission, or agency, WILL NOT email or mail invoices for application fees. All application fees are paid at the time of submittal and are coordinated directly with EDP Staff. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the EDP Staff assigned to your case.

About Planning & Zoning

The Planning and Zoning Department is responsible for all zoning, code enforcement and land-use planning activities in the unincorporated area of Franklin County. The Economic Development and Planning Department administers county zoning for ten of the seventeen townships in Franklin County: Brown, Clinton, Franklin, Hamilton, Madison, Mifflin, Norwich, Pleasant, Sharon, and Truro Townships.

The townships of Blendon, Jackson, Jefferson, Perry, Plain, Prairie, and Washington administer their own zoning. These townships do not fall under the jurisdiction of Franklin County's Economic Development and Planning Department.
