During periods of extreme cold and dangerous winter weather, the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center is providing free, temporary emergency boarding for dogs owned by Franklin County residents who are entering Franklin County warming centers.

This emergency boarding program is available to:

Short term, temporary emergency situations only

How to Access Emergency Boarding
If you or someone you are assisting needs emergency boarding for a dog:

Warming center staff and local law enforcement agencies may also contact the shelter directly when individuals arrive seeking assistance
