Animal Care & Control - Dog Warden Division
Franklin County Animal Care & Control enforces Ohio’s dog laws and responds to calls for service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Through a combination of education and enforcement, we work to protect the safety and wellbeing of both people and animals throughout Franklin County, Ohio.
Our team is responsible for enforcing Section 955 of the Ohio Revised Code, which includes laws related to dangerous, vicious, and nuisance dogs.

Complaints about Barking Dogs
For problems inside the city of Columbus, please contact the City Prosecutor's office to file a complaint.
For all other areas within Franklin County, please call your local police department or the Franklin County Sheriff's Department at 614-525-3333.
Animal Abuse & Cruelty Investigations
Please contact the Columbus Humane in Hilliard at 614-777-7387 ext. 5, and report the issue to one of their humane agents for investigation. You can also report suspected cruelty to animals online.
