Medication Assisted Treatment

MAT Program with OJPP

Our MAT (Medicated Assisted Treatment) program is designed to assist with the opioid epidemic in collaboration with Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. OJPP has created a joint relationship with Armor Medical and Franklin County Courts to ensure each eligible client receives appropriate services pre and post release.

Each MAT clients works with Armor medical staff and is provided with a medical assessment completed while incarcerated. Once clients work with the Armor medical team they would be referred to our specialized MAT prerelease group held within Franklin County Jail.

During the intake process our Re-entry Navigators who share lived experiences and specialize in bridging the gap of humanity work to inform clients of OJPP programs, discuss their MAT process pre and post release. When engaging with clients during the screening process they establish rapport with shared experiences to encourage positive outcomes and opportunities.

After qualifying clients start the Male MAT Pathways group they begin developing supportive systems, linkage to treatment, and other additional community resources. We work with our community providers to establish post release follow up.

OJPP works closely with Basecamp Recovery Center and the HOPE Task Force, which are both proven essential community partners dedicated to comprehensive and compassionate care. MAT clients are also linked with a Peer supporter post release and enriched with our Contingency Management program while meeting milestones in recovery.

Through these partnerships, we’ve strengthened our outreach involvement and intervention efforts, ensuring more people have access to life-saving resources. A key aspect also involves educating individuals about the use of Narcan and Harm Reduction education. Providing training and awareness around Narcan and Harm Reduction has been vital in empowering community members to respond effectively in emergency situations.

The MAT team provides an impactful experience by providing a collaborative support system to recovery from substance use disorders and the opioid crisis. We look forward to bridging the Gap to recovery and ultimately save lives.
