Document Imaging Center
The Franklin County Document Imaging Center operates under the Franklin County Microfilming Board and is administered by the Franklin County Recorder.
The Document Imaging Center serves various Franklin County government offices and agencies and its main duty is the conversion and preservation of County records, which is done by transferring paper and electronic documents onto microfilm, and computer systems, and other storage media.
Our Services
Some of the services we provide to County agencies:
- Scanning paper files to electronic images and/or microfilm
- Filming electronic images
- Scanning microfiche or microfilm images into an electronic image (easier to access for staff and public use)
- Indexing electronic images into Intellevue or other database (commonly referred to as data entry)
- Storage of original microfilm at VRC
Services are generally available at no cost for Franklin County General Fund agencies. (Non-General Fund agencies should contact the Document Imaging Center directly for a project cost estimate.)
The Document Imaging Center also provides microfilming supplies, processing and duplication services, archival storage services, as well as, research, advice and order placement to County agencies on the purchase of new microfilming equipment. The Microfilming Board
The Microfilming Board is the body of elected officials meeting quarterly that decides upon resolutions for the Document Imaging Center expenditures and personnel actions, County microfilming equipment purchases and other microfilming issues. The Board operates under authority of the Ohio Revised Code, Sections 307.80 through 307.806.

Microfilming Board Schedule
The Microfilming Board meets quarterly. Any variations are noted below. Unless otherwise notified, all meetings will be held in the Document Imaging Center's Conference Room on the 19th floor of 373 South High Street.

Annual Report
On the first Monday in April of each year, the county Recorder shall file with the Microfilming Board and the County Commissioners a report of the operations of the Document Imaging Center and a statement of the receipts and expenditures of the agency during the previous year.
