Pathways Programs

Pathways Achieving Recovery by Choice (ARC) Program is a nationally recognized program for women with high recidivism rates, mental health issues, co-occurring substance use disorders and has been assessed as moderate to high risk of re-offending upon release.

This 8-week peer led program begins during the client’s incarceration.  Pathways implements pre and post-release social and supportive services to individuals identified as at risk for a substance use or mental health disorders, currently incarcerated, and preparing for release from the Franklin County Correctional Center.

The program provides trauma informed care as well as cognitive based intervention.  The client will receive comprehensive case management, peer support, harm reduction education, linkage to recovery and reentry services. One aspect of the program is the implementation of weekly Prosocial groups.  These groups are intended to promote a healthy & sober lifestyle.  Past activities have been yoga, movie night, game night, poetry slams, and crafting.

During pre and post incarceration, the women receive an expansive level of engagement with their Peer Support Specialist.  The weekly one on one engagement allows the client and the peer to address personal goals and specific needs of the individual, as well developing a transition plan.

Upon release from jail the Pathways Ladies have access to the Pathways Alumni Community Support Group. The Pathways Alumni Community Support Group offers a safe space for those who are reintegrating back into the community.  The group is solely ran by formerly incarcerated Pathways participants.  The alumni group meets once a week and conducts a monthly community initiative.  Past initiatives have been making sack lunches and hygiene bags for the unhoused, managing a community garden, as well being a ”foot soldier” for the Food Soldier’s pop up fresh  produce giveaways.
